I can't believe that Dan and I have entered the third trimester of this pregnancy! It really feels like it has taken forever, yet the end is so close!! For first time parents, I feel like Dan and I are pretty prepared. We have been super blessed to get a lot of things that we need from family members, so really there are only a couple of big ticket items left to take care of before little man's arrival!!
So lately I have been wondering a lot about what this little guy is going to look like. I just can't wait to meet him and get to know his characteristics and habits. I thought I'd share some pictures of Dan and I when we were younger, that way when Baby M gets here we can compare :)
Here I am as a newborn. Big chunky cheeks, baby acne, and all :) Don't mind that my face is on a playing card, lets just say my Dad is awesome, and this was a pretty cool gift!
And then here is Dan as a newborn, still in the hospital and everything. He's such a cutie!!
Me at almost a year:
Daniel at 6 months:
I figure no matter who this kid looks more like, he's going to be pretty stinking cute! And I just can't wait until February to get to see him :)
As far as being 28 weeks pregnant, Dan and I have been pretty busy! We're trying to get the nursery all ready before the holidays are here and I get too uncomfortable to be of much help! We bought these cute baskets for the shelves on the changing table, and I just adore them: (don't mind the ripped up cushion, we just haven't taken the time to replace it yet!)
28 weeks pregnant also meant I got to take the glucose tolerance test. I had read a lot of really negative experiences about this, so I was kind of nervous. It was actually not bad at all. The drink was sugary as all get out, but they give you 5 minutes to drink the whole thing, and mine was completely gone within 2. Not a big deal at all. I liked my test because I was able to drink it at home, and then I just had to make sure I was at the lab within an hour. I also found out I passed, so that is awesome. Your sugar levels have to be below a 135, and mine was at a 96. Now I'm not worried about eating too much candy at all :)

28 weeks pregnant feels pretty good to me. I'm slower than I used to be, and I get tired quicker, but overall I'm doing great! I love feeling Baby M kick and move. I love my growing belly bump. There have been a couple of hiccups in the road though. At my last appointment we found out I was anemic. Which really isn't a big surprise to me. I have never been allowed to donate blood because my iron levels are always too low. It wasn't crazy low or anything though, so the doctor just recommended that I add in more iron-rich foods to my diet. The last issue is that I have been having high blood pressure off and on throughout my pregnancy. My doctor wants to watch me for pre-eclampsia so I have to do a bunch of extra lab work, including collecting 24 hours worth of urine. Wow, pregnancy is just so glamorous :) It just makes me feel lucky I'm not the lab technician who has to deal with it :) hahahaha. Anyways, I've been feeling good the whole time, so I am hopeful that those labs come back good and we don't need to worry. Despite these setbacks though, Dan and I are both doing well. We are trying to prepare as much as possible to become parents, as well as enjoy these last few months alone together!! Let me know if you have any advice!!
