Juntos Para Sempre: 1 Week Old

Our little baby Benjamin is a week old! I haven't finished writing down his birth story, but I fully intend to. It will make an appearance on this blog eventually. It was a crazy experience, and Dan and I both feel so blessed that for the most part things went smoothly and we have a beautiful baby boy in our home now.

This first week has been a whirlwind of everything. My mom has been here this week helping us take care of the little man. It has been so nice having her here and she has been amazing at taking care of both me and Benjamin.

Benjamin is such a doll, and Dan and I are both crazy in love with him. It's weird for me to think that not that long ago I was big and pregnant with him!!! I went grocery shopping with my mom this week and Dan stayed at home with our little man. It was the craziest feeling, walking around the store, not pregnant but also not having Benjamin with me. It has also been a little strange for me knowing the world around continues on the same, but my entire life has changed! It's a good kind of change, but still strange the same!

Here are a few fun facts about Benjamin:

- His umbilical cord fell off when he was only 4 days old. It might have gotten snagged on something, I'm really not sure, I just found it on the floor. I'm scared it came off too early, but his belly button seems ok, so that is a relief.
- He loves to have his hands by his face, and will gladly suck on his fists anytime they make it to his mouth :)
- He is a breastfeeding champ, and has been great since day 1! I feel so blessed with this one!
- We have been fighting jaundice all week. After 4 trips to the lab to get his heel pricked and blood tested, his bilirubin count is finally going down!! Say goodbye to his yellow tinge :)
- Watching Dan with Benjamin is one of the best things in my entire life. He is an amazing daddy!

Anyways, I've been taking lots of pictures this week, and we all know that is the best part of blogs about baby's anyway :)
