Happy Halloween!!

Dan and I have had a week full of Halloween fun. It all started last Saturday when we went to my sister's ward's trunk-or-treat. Which was a blast!! They fed us delicious chili and salad, and then all the kids got to go to the different cars and trick-or-treat. We got to walk around with them, although we didn't collect any candy ourselves! Anna's kids even won a costume contest!! They judged all the costumes, and then gave out about ten awards. Mikelle, Kaylee, Lexi won the spookiest sisters!! Mikelle was a vampire with blood dripping down her face, and Kaylee and Lexi were dressed up as witches, with spiders and warts on their faces!! (Seth was a raccoon - not quite as scary as the rest, but he sure was cute!!)

Here we are at the party:

Earlier this week Dan and I carved pumpkins for our front porch. We also roasted the pumpkin seeds out of them! They were so yummy!! We bought this carving pack that came with some seed recipes. The one we tested out was Worcestershire Sauce and butter  and some other stuff - and oh man, it was so good!

Pumpkins!!!

Dan's pumpkin was a pirate. Mine was supposed to be a graveyard. It doesn't look too good in the pictures though.

And then tonight has been one of the best Halloweens ever! I'm usually a Halloween-cinic. I don't really like lots of gory, scary things. And growing up on a dead-end road, we never had very many trick-or-treaters. And so, for me - Halloween has always been one of those 'meh' holidays. It usually came and passed like any other day of the week.

Dan on the other hand loves Halloween! He convinced me to not only dress up, but to also host a party at our house! It was so much fun!! The party consisted of couples costume contest (Congrats Paul and Amber for winning with their awesome 'Old People' costume!!), games, charades, donut eating contest, and just talking and having a good time!! We had so much fun getting to know the other couples better! We invited our downstairs neighbors, a girl I work with and her husband, and then Dan's best friend and his wife. It was a blast!

Daniel and I dressed up too, just the same as at the ward party.

Can anyone guess who we were supposed to be?

We got a lot of trick-or-treaters tonight, which was so fun! We had gotten candy for them, and most of it is gone now! The front of our house is all decorated with cobwebs
