This blog is slowly turning into a Benjamin-only blog, and that is not my intention at all! I want to also document the other things that are going on in our lives, but the past weeks have really been packed with baby, baby, baby. Having a baby (especially a first baby I think) is really a huge adjustment, and has a major learning curve. I think Daniel and I are almost to the point where life is beginning to feel almost 'normal' again, although our normal now is definitely different from our normal before Benjamin was born!!
But I do want to talk a little about other things we have been doing these past 6 weeks or so.
We took a day trip out to the Spiral Jetty on the Great Salt Lake. I had learned about this art piece in my AP Art History class in high school, so it was a fun little getaway! I have also never been that close to the lake, and the salt flats that we walked on to get right up to the water were pretty cool! Utah has had such nice weather lately, it has been awesome!!
Also, in other exciting news I have been accepted to the University of Colorado in Denver for their MPA ( Masters of Public Administration ) program. I am really excited about this, and will be starting this coming Fall! Ever since I graduated from BYU I have felt a longing to go back to school. Honestly, if it was a real job I'd probably be a professional student for the rest of my life :)
Anyways, I'm going to be taking classes online for the time being (I mean, I still have a baby to take care of people) and Dan will continue at BYU in Civil Engineering. There is a chance that Dan would do his Masters in Colorado, and if that is the case then I might have the opportunity to take some on-campus classes, but the whole program is online as well.
This last weekend we got out of the house and had a lot of fun! On Friday night we went to the drive-in theater up in Ogden and saw Insurgent. Benjamin was really a great baby during it all!! It was nice and easy to breastfeed him in the car when he was hungry. The only issue he had was trouble falling asleep while we held him in the car. Lucky he only really got fussy towards the end of the show, and then fell right asleep on the car ride home! And the movie was really good! Dan and I liked being able to see a new movie without the stress of keeping Benjamin quiet in a busy movie theater.
Then on Saturday we drove up to Deer Creek and went fishing! It was beautiful, and we were even able to catch a fish!

I sure love this little family of mine!! They are seriously the best! Plus, look at them! They are so dang cute! I love Benjamin's little toesies and scrunchy face he is making! Those two boys just make me the happiest!
