I cannot believe that my baby boy is one month old! Actually, I can believe my baby is that old, but I can't believe that it has been a whole month since I gave birth. The experience is still so fresh in my mind, that it literally feels like it was yesterday.
Benjamin has definitely been getting bigger this past month, and while I don't know his exact stats, he is turning into a chunk!
This past week Benjamin has been doing a lot better sleeping. I feed him sometime between 9:30 and 10:30 pm and he goes to sleep. Dan and I immediately go to sleep once Benjamin is down, otherwise neither of us get enough sleep. He'll then wake up sometime between 1:30 and 2. Four hour stretches without food is about as long as little man can go without eating right now. Then sometimes he'll start waking up every two hours at this point, but sometimes if we are lucky he'll sleep until 5 or 5:30.
Some fun facts about Benjamin Roy:
- this little boy loves his baths! Actually he loves everything about the bath. He likes the sound of the shower and will sit contently while Dan or I shower, he likes taking showers with daddy, and he loves warm baths in his bath chair! They calm him right down.
- he sleeps in his bouncy seat. Benjamin doesn't like laying flat on his back, and if we try to let him sleep in the crib or pack-n-play he'll cry within 10 minutes
- they retested his bilirubin at his 2 week appointment, and I just found out today that his numbers are totally normal!
- Benjamin loves the carseat, and Dan and I are really grateful for that! It means when the two of us need a little escape, we stick him in his seat, he sleeps, and we enjoy some grown-up conversation!
- the day he was born Benjamin sucked on his thumb like it was no one's business. Ever since then whenever his hands reach his mouth (which due to his lack of coordination isn't all that often) he will suck on them. He also loves the pinky. It makes me wonder if he'll be a thumb-sucker once he has more control over his arms.
So I tried to take some 1 month pictures of Benjamin today. They aren't anything amazing, but he is so adorable that despite my horrible picture-taking skills they turned out alright! I just want to make sure I can remember every moment of Benjamin's babyhood when he is bigger.
