Benjamin Roy: 3 Months

Its crazy that another month has already gone by! The days seem long sometimes, but the weeks and months seem to be flying past. Benjamin has changed so much since we brought him home from the hospital! And Dan and I have changed a lot too. I don't think you could ever welcome your first child (or any child for that matter) into the world without being permanently changed.

Benjamin is a joy to have in our lives, although we have our struggles as well. When Benjamin is happy, he is soooo happy! He coos all the time, he has the best smile! He is wiggly as ever! You can just tell that his whole body is happy. This month he has discovered his hands! While he still doesn't have great control over them, he loves sucking on them and bringing them to his mouth as often as possible. It helps him self-soothe, so I'm not complaining at all!

Our greatest struggle has been trying to keep Benjamin well fed. He has some tummy troubles, which makes him scream just about every feeding. Because of this he has been falling weight percentiles. At his two month check up he was in the 27th% for weight, and just two weeks later he had fallen to the 21st%. We are trying everything we can to get Benjamin to enjoy eating more and not get so many belly aches. We have started giving him gas drops before every bottle. And while not perfect, it has definitely been helping the past two days!!

Benjamin is my best buddy! We do everything together, and he is always by my side. He doesn't like being left in a room alone and if he is awake he will usually start to cry pretty quickly! I carry him around in his bouncy seat so that he can be with me more!

Now, onto the best part . . . pictures!! These ones turned out especially great thanks to Dan helping to get Benjamin to smile!!

And here is a fun comparison!! Its so crazy how quickly they change!!
