Lots of fun things have been happening around the McGuire home lately! Daniel is crazy busy between two jobs and school. Benjamin and I hang out everyday (he is my best buddy!!) and I have been trying to make us some extra money as an Independent Consultant with Jamberry Nails.
Benjamin is doing great and is as cute as ever!! More on him in the next week as he is turning FOUR months old! So crazy!

I am doing pretty good too. I am trying to start a work out and diet regime to help me lose the last of the baby weight (plus some). Its difficult to find things that I can do with Benjamin, but it is also an adventure :) We are going on lots of brisk walks. I'm trying to walk 3.2 miles three times a week. I try to walk fairly quickly, and with pushing a stroller I'm hoping to start out fairly easy. Then I come home and do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred Level 1. Its 30 minutes of cardio and abs. Benjamin has been pretty good during it. I usually make sure he is fed and clean and then sit him in his seat. As long as I stay in the room with him, he's pretty good.

I'm also working on building up my other hobbies and interests. My greatest struggle with having a new baby has been feeling like I lost myself, like I'm not the person I was before anymore because I have a little man who needs me constantly and there is almost no time to focus on myself. So I'm working on finding things that I can do with Benjamin and still be an individual. Jamberry Nails has been a big part of that. It is something that I can do that is separate from my life as a mom, and it also helps me contribute to our finances.

Other interest's I'd like to further develop include: sewing, baking (cupcakes and treats), reading (I have neglected this for far too long!!), piano/organ. I'm sure there are many others that I will work on as well, I just haven't found time to focus on them. It's hard to find time with Benjamin. Baby cakes is obviously the only baby I've ever had, so I don't know if this is normal or not, but he is pretty fussy. I can almost never leave him in a room alone. Even if I just go into the kitchen to grab some food he starts to whine. And some times during the day he won't let me set him down period. So it can be hard to get things done, but I do my best!

My niece Emma came and visited this past week. It was so fun! I haven't seen her since our wedding, so like 3 years now! She is so grown up now! It was also crazy because we had my parents' oldest and youngest grandchild together!!

In other fun news, Benjamin got his nails painted for the first time :) All the girls were doing nails on Memorial Day weekend, so I let Benjamin join in on the fun. They matched his outfit and everything!!
We also put in our garden! We are getting excited to actually weed it this year and let it thrive. Last year our garden wasn't very successful. Mostly because I found out on June 2 I was pregnant, and then I had NO energy to do anything the entire summer!!

We have been having some fun adventures, and I look forward to documenting more of them this summer! Hopefully it doesn't get too hot and miserable, I like taking baby cakes outside :)
