I can't believe how close we are getting to having a one year old! It seems so crazy how quickly the past year has flown by. There were moments that were really long, that seemed like they would never pass by while we were living them. But now in retrospect, the last 10 months have flown. I think part of the reason they seemed to have gone by so quickly is that our lives have changes so much in such a short amount of time. I didn't think we would be where we are right now 10 months ago, but I am so glad that we are!
Benjamin has changed a lot in the last month! He had his first major illness (besides a cold), which consisted of diarrhea for a week and a half. He was miserable, I was miserable, it was all around not fun. He lost interest in food and lost weight. At his 9 month check up (which was actually just two weeks ago) he only weighed 17 lbs 5 oz. Which puts him in the 10th percent. But I'm pretty sure he has already put on a pound or more since feeling better. He has been ravenous lately! I have to take him in in a few weeks for a weight check to make sure he bounced back ok from being sick, so it will be interesting to see where he actually is.
He is crawling everywhere now and pulling himself up to his feet. If you can see the red bump above his left eye in the pictures below, he decided to face plant onto our hard floor. Poor kid, he gets beaten up a lot. I never realized how painful learning to walk could be.
The best thing he has learned in the last month is to pick up food and eat it himself! It is awesome! And it is so fun to watch how messy he gets! He loves lasagna, any pasta, and especially clementines or oranges! He devours those things! I swear, he eats so much solid food these days! I can't believe it! Also, I'm pretty sure he is lactose intolerant. He spits up a lot every time I feed him anything with milk in it. We finally bought him some almond milk, and he has been loving it! Its the only thing I can convince him to drink out of a sippy cup!
Benjamin has also learned to clap this past month, and it is so dang cute! Everything that kid does is so cute, but you can just tell how excited he gets when he claps his hands together! He is quite proud of himself, and so are we!
This month was full of lots of firsts! First zippy cup, first Thanksgiving, first sleepover at Grandma's, first goose egg, first major illness, first time decorating for Christmas! I can't believe that in just 2 short months a lot of these 'firsts' will be over! But I am so excited to watch Benjamin grow and change!
This last picture is my very favorite! He is such a silly fun kid! He is so happy (unless he is sleepy), and we love having him in our family! I can't imagine this life without him!
