Camping :)

Last weekend we decided to go camping . . . again. I was a little bit worried after our first camping trip. It rained the entire time we were gone, freezing cold, and it was quite miserable. But Dan and I made a deal. Any camping trip I now have the right to cancel, based on weather reports, within 15 minutes of actually leaving. So of course I made sure to check the weather all week. The place we went was also much more my style. It was an improved campground, so we could have a fire, and it had flush toilets :) And it was absolutely beautiful!! We went up after Dan got off of work on Friday. We stopped at Dairy Keen in Heber on our way for Lunch/Dinner. Its a fun tradition that Dan's family started, and we have been continuing.

We got up to the campground, about a two hour drive, set up camp, and then went down to the reservoir. We had brought a canoe to use, so we threw that in the water. It was super windy though, so the canoe was hard to control. But we found a small little bay area that was much less windy. We saw three beavers there, which was really cool!! I'd never seen a beaver before. We tried to find their dam, but we had no luck with that one.

We tried our hand at fishing while we were gone, but again we had no luck. I've decided that it must be me. I can't seem to catch any fish, ever. So I'm on the verge of giving up. It just isn't all that fun for me. But I know how much Dan loves it. We did catch one fish . . . well Dan did. It was about 3 inches long.

That evening we made a campfire, had tin foil dinners, roasted marshmallows, made a peach cobbler, and played Phase 10. It was a fun evening!! Originally we had invited some friends to come up with us, but it seemed like everyone else had other plans, so it turned out just the two of us. But we had tons of fun still!!!

The next morning we got up and had a delicious breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and some other veggies. It was very yummy!! Later on we headed back down to the lake, but we still had no luck. I got frustrated, so we finally decided to call it a day and head home. It was quite a fun trip, and we will probably be doing lots of camping in the future!!

One of the beavers . . . I'm not sure you can actually see it though.
