Weekends keep me sane

You think I'm joking about the title, don't you? Well, I'm not. Weekends are the best. I love them. Dan gets to stay home, and we always go and do lots of fun things!! This past weekend was a blast! We started off a little early, on Thursday. Dan still had to work Friday, but Thursday is when the real partying began.

Anna and Mike invited us to go to Buffalo Wild Wings with them, and it was lots of fun! It was 60 cent wing night, and they have so many seasonings and sauces!! I think my favorite was the Parmesan Garlic! Dan and I have a weakness for buffalo chicken wings, but we usually go to Applebees  (YUM!!) So it was super fun to get to try a new place, and they were all delicious! (Although a lot of them are super spicy! You should have seen Mike sweat . . . then again, maybe you're glad you didn't :P )

After that the four (well, 5 since Seth came along for the ride) of us went to Ikea. It was fun walking around the displays. Dan and I even bought a stand for our TV (thanks Kol!!). Afterwards Anna and Mike headed home, but for Dan and I the night was still young. I guess that when you're as old as Anna and Mike, you have to go home early to bed. :)

Dan and I headed to the Salt Lake County Fair in South Jordan. We had tickets to the Kix Brooks (from Brooks and Dunn) concert. It was lots of fun!! Our favorite song was Red Dirt Road. Then we walked around the fair, and tried to win a goldfish, but we failed miserably. hahaha.

Friday was another fun evening. Dan and I pulled taffy, which is actually extremely difficult!! But it was really fun, and turned out delicious! We made lemon flavored taffy, and added some yellow food coloring to make it look legit. Then we visited with Dan's family for the rest of the evening.

Saturday was a fun day. Aubrey flew in for education week. She was spending the day at Anna's home, so Dan and I headed down there for the day. We had a blast just hanging out. We went to Ikea again (I bought some cute flower pots . . . thanks again Kol!!), and then they came to the apartment we are going to be moving into for the fall. It was fun that they got to see where we will be living, and we loved getting to see Aubrey again! The first time Dan met her was at the wedding, so it was nice to have some time to just chill together.

Then on Sunday we drove up to Bountiful to celebrate Dan's birthday with his family! They were so generous and nice to us. We went to church with them, where Kaitlin gave an excellent talk. We also got to be there for Bradley being ordained as an Elder.

  1. Wahoo I made the blog!!!! Only you called me old, sniffle! But at least you would recognize hanging out with us, unlike Dan. =) hahaha, We have fun with you guys and can't wait for you to move closer!!! I'll have to have Mike read this too. Oh and can I just say that writing out the word verification thing to prove I'm not a robot is actually hard for me to see I end up doing it at least twice every time.
