Summer Lovin'

Summer so far has been wonderful here in Utah! I love everything about summer, except for the heat!! And I know I can't even complain about that much, because we have lots of friends who have it much worst. But I really can't stand much above 80, I'm a wimp.

This is just a nice family picture that Dan's mom got of us in their backyard. It was Benjamin's first official swing experience!!  He had a little bit of anxiety about it, but handled it like a champ! No crying or anything!

Benjamin and I took another trip to Seven Peaks! It was a lot of fun! We met up with my cousin Shannon. Shannon has a 10 year old daughter and a son that is 9 months old. We mostly just chatted and sat in the wave pool! I made sure Benjamin stayed out of the sun, but I got a wicked bad sunburn on my back for all my valiant efforts!!

His cute sun hat!! and adorable chubby belly :)

Benjamin got to try his first official solid food on Father's Day!! We mashed up an avocado and tried to feed it to him! It was a pretty thick consistency for a first food, but I think he enjoyed it. He kept trying to get more, even though most of what he got ended up getting spit out. I guess practice makes perfect and eventually he will learn to swallow from a spoon! P.S. I'm planning on writing a whole post about the adventure with Benjamin's eating. It has been a struggle I never expected to have. But more on that later!

One of the most exciting things we have done with Benjamin is go camping!! I'm impressed with us that we braved camping with a 4 month old, but it was actually fantastic! It turned out way better than I imagined!! We went with some really good friends of ours, and it was just so much fun. I think we will definitely be going camping again this summer!!

On the car ride!

The first thing we did was set up camp! Benjamin just chilled in the carseat for most of the time. He was so happy and content and kept cooing and squealing every time anyone walked by! What a sweet heart boy!

The boat was the tricky part of the trip {We borrowed it from Dan's parents. Thanks so much you guys!!} I just didn't know what to do with Benjamin or how to keep him safe and warm. We borrowed a life jacket from my sister and took his carseat into the boat with us so that he would have a safe place to be!

He was so cute and happy in his life jacket!! The only thing he disliked about the boat was when the sun got in his eyes {which happened a lot!}.

Two cute sweet boys!

Benjamin's fishing!!! He was fascinated with the reel.

Benjamin's and Dan's catch!

Fishing was a blast! The friends we went with, Amber and Paul, kicked our trash though! I think Amber ended up catching 3 and Paul caught 2. Dan caught 1 and I caught . . . 0. Waawaa. But that's ok! We went fishing on Friday night, and then went back to camp and cooked brats and filleted the fish to eat as well! The food was so good!! We did a little more fishing on Saturday and then packed up and headed home!! It was such a great time and excellent company! We can't wait to go again!!
