Daniel was kind of bummed out when we didn't end up going camping on Friday night. We both agreed that it was the right decision not to go, but there was no holding back his disappointment. He spent all Friday night and Saturday morning convincing me that we should go up to Mill Hollow that afternoon. He was so cute about it, telling me how much warmer it would be and how much fun we would have fishing!
I of course gave in because Daniel is so cute and I just couldn't stop myself. Dan still had to work from 6 am - 12, but we headed up to Mill Hollow shortly after he got home. On the drive we ran into Dan's family. They were up cutting trees down for firewood. (It was planned to meet them, not just a major coincidence). We stopped on the side of the road to help them out.
Kaitlin had a little fire started and Dan's dad had already dropped down a big tree. We had fun helping them out. I even got to use a chainsaw for the first time ever! It was a huge chainsaw, and kind of scary! Actually, the only thing that made me nervous was that the giant log was going to fall on my foot after I cut it from the tree. Dan and his dad taught me how to hold it. It was really fun. I felt so powerful!! Haha.
We hung out with them for awhile. After we got the trailer all loaded with wood Dan and I took off to make it the rest of the way to Mill Hollow. When we got there we realized how good it was that we hadn't gone camping. The campground was closed and there was a fair amount of snow on the ground!
We set up some camping chairs and spent the rest of the afternoon fishing. Dan caught two little trout, I on the other hand had no luck. I had a couple of bites, but the fishing was pretty rough. We tried power bait, spinning lure, and flies. I don't remember what Dan caught his two fish on. I was a little bummed that we didn't catch more, but it still was lots of fun!! I enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and my first snow of the season! Dan and I had a blast, and were so glad we took the time to go up!
